Asking questions in Thai with “rĕu bplào”
หรือเปล่า (rĕu bplào) is literally “or not?”.
หรือเปล่า (rĕu bplào) is used interchangeably with ไหม (măi) to turn statements into questions. It is not used interchangeably when ไหม (măi) is used to give a feeling of “would you like to…?”.
In spoken Thai, หรือเปล่า (rĕu bplào) is often shortened and pronounced as ปะ (bpà).

The หรือเปล่า (rĕu bplào) in all of these examples below can be replaced with ไหม (măi).
